KwaWingu was born from a simple observation: the tourism industry runs on fragmented, expensive tools that weren't built for the people who actually operate tours. We're changing that.
Our story
KwaWingu started in Arusha, Tanzania — the gateway to Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti, and some of the world's most extraordinary tours. We saw tour operators running million-dollar businesses on spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups, and manual processes.
The existing software was either built for hotels (wrong model), built for Western markets (wrong context), or priced out of reach for growing operators. None of it understood the reality of running a tour company in East Africa — or anywhere outside the usual tech hubs.
We built KwaWingu to be the platform we wished existed: purpose-built for tour operators, powerful enough for enterprise, accessible enough for a 5-person safari company. One platform that handles reservations, OTA distribution, operations, and growth — without commissions, without complexity, without compromise.
Today, KwaWingu serves tour operators across 30+ countries. From Serengeti safari companies to Zanzibar day-trip operators to Kilimanjaro trekking outfits — and increasingly, operators across Asia, Europe, and the Americas who want a platform that just works.
